Geromella Surf Center didn’t start as a concept. It grew slowly – the same way people learn to windsurf.

Today, Geromella is still built on the same idea: People don’t come here to be rushed. They come to feel safe enough to try.

The People Behind Geromella

 

 

Dalen is the heart of the center. With a background in kinesiology and decades of experience on the water, he has seen every stage of learning windsurfing – from first hesitant steps to confident, independent riding.

A former top-level competitor and winner of both the Croatian Cup and the Adria Cup, he now applies that experience with calm judgment, knowing when to step in, when to hold back, and how to guide progress in a steady, sustainable way.

Alongside his work at the center, he is a physical education teacher in a primary school and an External Collaborator at the Faculty of Kinesiology, University of Zagreb, where he teaches Windsurfing.

Ivana is the structure that makes everything flow. She’s the one who helps guests find the right course, the right timing and the right rhythm for their stay.

Behind the scenes, she ensures that lessons are organised thoughtfully, questions are answered clearly, and every visit feels smooth from the first message to the last day on the water.

 

Twenty Years on the Water Teaches You a Few Things

 

Lessons adapt to people – not the other way around. Some need encouragement. Some need space. Some just need someone close by, quietly paying attention.

Over time, that approach speaks for itself. Guests return. Families come back. And many who once said “I’ll just try” end up staying longer than planned.

Geromella works from two locations in Istria – each with its own character, but guided by the same principles.

Both exist for the same reason: to match the right conditions with the right people, so learning always feels appropriate and safe.
